Cedar’s Continuing Care department is excited to introduce our Eating Disorder Recovery Group, facilitated over eight weeks, in two hour virtual meetings, much of this work is adapted from the research of Dr. Brené Brown and the Daring Way curriculum.
The Eating Disorder Recovery group is educational, empowering, positive, compassionate, solution-focused and fun. Together, we will work on understanding how and why we have engaged in disordered eating and struggles with body image and self-esteem. Participants will learn tools and skills to build self-worth, self-care and self-compassion, and how to implement these practices into our daily lives.
Clients will begin with programming focused upon gaining a greater awareness of their behaviors around disordered eating and will explore techniques that serve to empower them to move towards a more joyful and authentic life.
This group will build a greater understanding of how our “self-talk” impacts mental health and wellbeing with the goal to ground ourselves in recovery and to cultivate more joy, purpose and meaning in life and recovery.

*Each session runs Tuesdays for 2 hours from 1:00 to 3:00pm*
In addition to the support offered in these group modalities, participants in Cedar’s Eating Disorder Recovery Group program will have access to our Continuing Care team on an as needed basis for the duration of the program.
