Cedar’s Continuing Care department is excited to introduce our Anger Management Recovery Group, facilitated over eight weeks, in two hour virtual meetings, hosted by a Masters level clinician. Throughout the course of the 8 week workshop, participants will gain awareness about anger, examine triggers, develop self-control over their thoughts and behaviors, and learn to respond versus react in difficult situations.
Sometimes anger is a natural response to situations where we feel wronged. Other times anger can become a maladaptive coping mechanism in our lives threatening our peaceful enjoyment of life and keeping us from reaching our full potential.
The Anger Management Recovery Group is educational, empowering, positive, compassionate, and solution-focused. Participants will begin by exploring how anger and/or aggression manifests in their behaviors and affects their relationship with themselves and the people around them. The group facilitator will provide education and guidance on understanding the thoughts and feelings that lead to anger and how the stories we tell ourselves can often lead to challenging situations. Ultimately, participants will gain increased insight into anger and new skills for authentic assertiveness and conflict resolution.
